Neural Devices to Promote Recovery Following Spinal Cord Injury
By Chet Moritz, PhD, associate professor in the UW Departments of Rehabilitation Medicine and Physiology & Biophysics and co-director of the Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering.
Presented on September 27, 2017 at the University of Washington Medical Center
Dr. Moritz talked about his research to improve hand and arm function by stimulating the spinal cord through electrodes placed externally on the skin over the spine, instead of being implanted directly on the spinal cord. Dr. Moritz is recruiting participants with incomplete (ASIA B, C or D) cervical SCI (quadriplegia/tetraplegia) for this ongoing study.
