2013 Spinal Cord Injury Wellness Summit

The 2013 SCI Wellness Summit was our second annual half-day educational program for individuals with SCI, family members, caregivers and health professionals. It took place on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the University of Washington South Campus Center in Seattle. The SCI Wellness Summit is a joint program of the Northwest Regional SCI System and the SCI Transitions and Wellness Program in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington.

Upwards of 150 people attended the event, which featured several educational presentations by experts in their fields (see the program schedule, below). The keynote talk “SCI Research and the Hope for Cure: Where Are We Today?” was given by Daniel Lammertse, MD, from Craig Hospital and the Rocky Mountain SCI System (Colorado). Attendees also enjoyed refreshments, a display of art by individuals with SCI, raffles, and displays by equipment manufacturers and distributors who provided underwriting support.
