Neilsen Award Funds Streaming Videos

The NWRSCIS received funding from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation to expand its program of videotaping SCI Forum presentations and making them available online as streaming video.

SCI Forums take place at the University of Washington and have long provided current and accurate information on SCI-related topics. But the NWRSCIS serves a five-state region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho), and the majority of its SCI consumers live too far away to attend in person.

Consumers and health providers far and near have long requested that we offer the SCI Forums as videos, and the current state of computer media technology now makes this a reasonable option. Immediately after posting our first video, feedback from consumers convinced us that these videos meet a real need in the SCI community for timely, high-quality information. We thank the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation for supporting this worthwhile program.
