- Pressure ulcer treatment
Pressure ulcers (pressure sores, bedsores, decubitis ulcers) are a frequent, life-disrupting complication of SCI; the risk of pressure ulcers increases over the lifetime and recurrences are common. At the UW's Harborview Medical Center, the departments of plastic surgery and rehabilitation medicine team up to take a comprehensive rehabilitation approach to pressure ulcer treatment and the prevention of recurrences.

On April 12, 2005, Dr. Trent Tredway , assistant professor of neurological surgery at the University of Washington, presented a lecture covering new knowledge in the area of SCI recovery research, including the progress of current clinical trials and plans for future studies. - Complementary and Alternative Medicine
The latest SCI Forum speakers were local practitioners of three CAM modalities: therapeutic massage, naturopathy and acupuncture.
