Who Should I See and What Should I Say: Healthcare and SCI

Presented on June 26, 2019

Most health care providers are not experts in spinal cord injury. Yet, chances are that you will need the health care services they offer. Dr. Jelena Svircev, MD reviews the challenges that individuals with SCI encounter when seeking medical care in the community and discusses signs and symptoms that can lead you to choose one health care provider or setting over another. Dr. Svircev also demonstrates some different approaches you can use to educate providers on SCI-specific issues and your overall health. Humorous video vignettes lay the basis for discussion and feedback from the audience in attendance.
